Love God. Love others. Even with my finances.

When it's upside down, money controls people and destroys lives. It's the #1 cause of divorce, a top level stress contributor and common cause of suicide. However, when it's right side up, money is a tool of a generous life helping people grow closer to God and each other.

We can accomplish more together than we can alone. And, it’s amazing what the church can do when we come together. Since 1986, faithful individuals at Granger Community Church have given over $87 million to impact our community, region and world with tangible examples of the love of Christ. We are a generous church. Who wouldn’t want to be a part of that?

Tony and Tammy Michael

Successfully reaching all the goals of the modern couple, Tony and Tammy were hit hard and fast by dramatic trials that could have broken them physically and emotionally. Instead, it sparked a new faith that opened their eyes to a new perspective and new way of living. “God wasn’t after our money. He was after our heart. We wrestled with this.”

Kim's Story She was a single mom who first started coming to Granger because someone from work invited her. She kept coming because there was something in every message that spoke to her longings. Even if she wasn't sure she bought into the whole 'church' gig, she was starting to discover that faith in Christ wasn't a joke. During one service, she was overwhelmed by internal gratitude and felt moved to say thanks to God with her money, for the first time. She opened her heart and dropped $20 in the offering plate as an act of gratitude and worship. Before the plate had made it to the end of her row, she closed her heart again and left church wishing there was some way to get that $20 back. But, the story didn't end there. In that moment, that leap of faith, her life started to change from the inside out. Find out how God surprised her and exceeded her expectations.

Luanna's Story Luanna started coming to Granger with her family 16 years ago. They connected right away–serving and growing. But as you know, life has a way of surprising us and things don’t always turn out the way we plan. In spite of real life disappointments and struggles, Luanna’s faith in God, along with her sacrificial giving, stayed constant. Through divorce, bankruptcy and more, she refused to let her circumstances define her. She saw a bigger picture–one where her life mattered and God still counted on her to make a difference in the lives of others. Through it all. Every season. We’re standing on the shoulders of the faithfulness of people like Luanna. Hear her story, in her own words at GCCwired.com.

It's simple really:

3 Ways to Give

Start giving regularly: Stay faithful and consistent with an automatic recurring schedule. Create an account and start online giving.

Be a percentage giver: The bible refers to 10% as target for giving (it’s called tithing). But, more than 50% of all regular church goers give nothing. If every attendee gave just 3-4% of their income, our church impact would more than double. If you’ve never given before, start low, work your way up and give something regularly. If you’re already tithing, stay the course and watch God honor your sacrifice.

Make a year end gift: Special one-time, year-end gifts can be symbolic response of a renewed focus and commitment. This faithful act changes the giver from the inside out. Split your holiday budget between buying presents and making a special offering.

Get help: Attend a Financial University class. Get financial counseling .

Take The Generosity Challenge: See below.

Pray through these probing questions:

  • What am I doing to teach my family about the joy of generosity?
  • Where in my life am I rich in the things money can’t buy?
  • If today were my last day, would I be happy the legacy my financial choices leave?
  • What’s one thing I can do today to live with a generous heart?
  • Where have I seen the generosity of others directly affect my life?
  • Although I might not be chasing money, are there areas of my life where I hold onto and give it more importance than it deserves?

Pray about increasing whatever you give by $15 a week. If 1,282 families take the challenge we can do great things:

  1. Our home: Honor God by caring for our church property and the technology necessary to create excellent environments that continue to be inviting and secure. Communicate care and value to people in the facility details.
  2. Our community: Break the cycle of poverty for more than 300 families in South Bend's Monroe Circle by providing monthly food and pantry items as well as daily educational opportunities for adults and children.
  3. Our world: Plant 250 new churches in India and transform three villages through safe housing, health and sanitation, education and micro-enterprise business start-ups. Launch a new Web site that will allow anyone in the world to experience a Granger service "live" while interacting with others who are also watching.
