EnterMission

by Rob Wegner

We’re committed to our local, inner-city Monroe Circle neighborhood for the long term. As a community, the people of Granger would rather do a lot in a few places than do a little in a lot of places. Locally, regionally and internationally we’ve put our foot down in one geographic location that we focus on like a laser.

Locally, we focus 80 percent of our man-hours and resources in this one neighborhood. The cumulative impact is dramatic. Over the next decade we’re dreaming about entire family legacies being transformed. It’s going to happen. It’s already begun. Jesus said His kingdom is like yeast in the dough, a little bit of leaven is an unstoppable force that raises the whole loaf. That chemical reaction is happening at Monroe Circle.

We’re convinced that the local church is the hope of the world. No matter what the issues: spiritual lostness, poverty, broken relationships, homelessness, education and the list goes on...the church can and should be there. But, that doesn’t mean the local church has to be an expert in every area of holistic ministry. There are tons of world class organizations that we can partner with to get the Kingdom work done. Partnership is a big deal for us. We don’t walk into new partnerships very quickly. Let’s just say we’ve been burned in the past. After a lot of trial and error, we’ve got some partnerships that are truly amazing.

In the last three years, through our partnership with the Bible League, we’ve helped plant over 100 churches in Tamil Nadu, India. Since then, those churches have planted another 64 new churches and experienced 34,541 people being baptized. (If you know anything about the persecution in India, you know how huge this truly is!) They've seen over 69,000 people decide to follow Jesus. Believe it or not, we’re sure that what God has next is even more amazing. This partnership has lead to a movement of churches in Tamil Nadu that is awe-inspiring. Local church-based partnerships are core to the success of the next wave of missional activity.
